Free “Understanding Medicare” virtual presentations offered in April

Three presentations offered on Thursdays in April

– The Health Insurance Advisory and Advocacy Program (HICAP) will sponsor free virtual presentations for those interested in better understanding Medicare benefits. Understanding Medicare presentations will take place:

• Thursday 14 April, at 12 noon
• Thursday 21 April, at 2 p.m.
• Thursday 28 April, at 12 noon

“HICAP offers presentations to help Medicare beneficiaries and their caregivers better understand this comprehensive healthcare program,” said Julie Posada, HICAP Program Manager, Central Coast Commission for Senior Citizens. Either those new to Medicare or those who currently have Medicare coverage can benefit from this detailed overview.

Topics will include a comprehensive introduction to Medicare, including what Medicare covers, supplemental insurance, Part D prescription coverage, Medicare group health plans, and employers and retiree health plan considerations.

HICAP offers free, unbiased advice and information on health insurance matters. HICAP does not sell, recommend or endorse any insurance product, agent, insurance company or health plan. Presentations are a service of the Central Coast Commission for Senior Citizens, HICAP with financial assistance, in whole or in part, through a grant from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the federal agency for Medicare.
