On Thursday August 12, 2021, you are invited to join Health affairs Editor-in-Chief Alain weil when he welcomes Chiquita Brooks-LaSure, the new administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) of the United States Department of Health and Human Services. At CMS, she oversees programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and the health insurance marketplace HealthCare.gov.
A former politician who played a key role in guiding the Affordable Care Act (ACA) through passage and implementation, Brooks-LaSure has decades of experience in the federal government, at Capitol Hill and in the private sector. As of March 2020, Ms. Brooks-LaSure was the lead author of Building on ACA Gains: Federal Proposals to Improve Coverage and Affordability in Health Affairs’ thematic issue on “The Affordable Care Act celebrates its 10th anniversary”.
Viewers will have the opportunity to ask questions before and during the live session.
