Wellness Program Updates: COVID-19 Vaccination Activity

Eligible members include active and retired members under the age of 65 who have received their full immunization as plan members at any time since January 1, 2021 (the start of our plan year).

Regulatory guidelines from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services prohibit Medicare Advantage members from earning an incentive to participate in COVID-19 immunization activity. The COVID-19 vaccination activity is an extension of the annual SHBP wellness initiatives offered to SHBP commercial members (non-MA) and covered spouses enrolled in the Anthem, UnitedHealthcare and Kaiser Permanente plan options.

Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield (Anthem) and UnitedHealthcare

The existing Be well SHBP® The program administered by Sharecare is open to active retirees and under 65 years of age members inscribed in the hymn Where UnitedHealth care plans. After accumulating the 480 points, an eligible member or spouse can each choose to redeem those points for a $ 150 Visa Reward card. Altenatively, points can be converted in credits To medical and pharmacy offset expenses in increments of 120 credits. Points must be reimbursed before December 15.

For the Be Well program, the new promotion adds COVID-19 vaccination as an activity worth up to 480 points, which eligible members can redeem for 480 credits or a $ 150 Visa Reward card. This addition to the wellness program will also end on November 30. Sharecare is updating its Be Well site to reflect the new wellness promotion. Kaiser Permanente

Currently, Kaiser Permanente members and their eligible spouses have access to the 2021 SHBP 5-Step Wellness program. Through this program, they can each earn a $ 500 reward card for performing certain wellness activities.

For Kaiser, the new promotion will add an opportunity for eligible members and covered spouses, whether they have already completed their 5-step wellness program. program or not, to earn a $ 150 reward card for being fully immunized.
