West Health comments on Senate action for adva

SAN DIEGO, California – July 6, 2022 – West Health Chairman Timothy A. Lash issued the following statement on news that Senate Democrats have agreed to advance prescription drug pricing reform and the legislation has been submitted to the parliamentarian of the Senate.

“West Health commends Senate Democrats for advancing prescription drug pricing reform through a reconciliation agenda that includes empowering Medicare to negotiate lower drug prices, drug cost caps prescription and limiting price increases to the rate of inflation.

It’s a big step in the right direction and is hugely popular with American audiences. Beneficiaries and their families, and really no one, should have to fight just to pay for their prescription drugs. These drug pricing provisions will save lives and taxpayers’ money, and they are long overdue. West Health looks forward to its rapid adoption and continues the work to make healthcare more affordable in America.
